Literacy Council Gulf Coast

Our Students Risk it All!

At the Literacy Council Gulf Coast, many of our students and their families have taken a major risk of coming to the United States. They have left everything they know behind, packed up their entire lives, and moved to an entirely new place with the dream to create a better life for themselves.
Not only is it more difficult for adults to learn a new language, but English is also one of the hardest languages to learn. Our students risk it all and take the challenge head-on. We have remained by their side through the storm of COVID-19.
At the Literacy Council, our mission is to help every student who walks through our doors as they strive toward a better future for their families and our community.
