During the week of July 22 – July 26, 2019 eighty-seven self-administered Economic Life Improvement Survey questionnaires were distributed, and collected among current Literacy Council students.  The survey was written in English and Spanish.

The purpose of this survey was to find out the impact economically of our students who are learning English.

What were the results?

The results show economic confidence has improved due to English acquisition when making purchases and allowed the students to become more informed consumers.

Students are able to participate more fully in the economics of our community and are able to be employed, work more hours, get a pay raise, promotion, and/or get a better job.

Students desire further education once learning English such as GED, Citizenship, attend a trade school or a university and have become entrepreneurs through self-employment and starting their own business.

Thank you for your support of the Literacy Council, you are making dreams come true and building economic confidence each day!
