English literacy nonprofit aims to raise funds to support education services

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2026) — Literacy Council Gulf Coast (LCGC) will host its annual fundraising brunch, “Brunch & Bubbles,” at 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club. The event will spotlight LCGC’s efforts to strengthen literacy in the community while recognizing the dedicated tutors and students who support and benefit from the programs.

Guests will also have the opportunity to meet Ed DeJesus, author of “The Vulnerable,” and Fort Myers–based, multi-award-winning writer who incorporates familiar local landmarks into his storytelling. The event will also feature raffle prizes benefiting literacy initiatives, more opportunities to learn more about the LCGC’s programs and impact and the presentation of the Volunteer of the Year award. Event tickets are $175 and include complimentary valet service, bottomless mimosas, a live and silent auction, and opportunities to connect with fellow supporters. A cash bar will also be available.

“This event is a meaningful opportunity to bring the community together in support of our mission,” said Leah Mason, executive director of LCGC.
