The Literacy Council Gulf Coast (LCGC) is excited to introduce a new initiative designed to support SWFL families. Recognizing that many in the community could use an extra helping hand, LCGC is partnering with Meals of Hope to provide a Baby Food Pantry for families in Bonita Springs. Meals of Hope is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) that is committed to bringing people together to fight the hunger epidemic.
Starting this month, the Baby Food Pantry will be open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The pantry is exclusively for families with babies and children up to five years old who are currently enrolled in LCGC classes. If you wish to join LCGC classes you can access further information on the website under the tab labeled ‘Programs.
Parents will also be able to have access to vital resources such as baby formula, cereal and food (stages 1-3). Also, when available, families will also have access to fresh produce, dry goods and diapers while supplies last.
Dr. Leah Mason, Executive Director of Literacy Council Gulf Coast, shares her excitement about the program to further help support the surrounding community.
“This program is going to be a valuable resource for those in need, we hope this pantry can support families who may be struggling and provide a helping hand.”
This partnership is another step in LCGC’s ongoing commitment to uplifting families in Southwest Florida. By pairing educational opportunities with essential support, they help empower adults, children, and families to build brighter futures through English literacy and lifelong learning.
